FedEx Small Business Grant Contest: Vote For Us!

By Andrew Celani/Operations Manager

FedEx is running a Small Business Grant Contest and we need your help! We just found out about it so we signed up right before the deadline, which means we have a lot of catching up to do. The voting period runs from May 17 - June 13 and you can vote once per 24-hour period (so bookmark this page and keep the votes coming).

On June 20, FedEx will announce the Top 100 small businesses that entered, and on July 11 the winners be announced. The grand prize is $25,000.

From The Contest Entry Form:

Tell us about your business, what inspired you to get into it, what you sell/service you offer, what makes your business stand out and how it impacts you, your community or the environment. - Power Chair Recyclers of New England started in 2013 as a social and sustainability venture to divert medical equipment from the landfill, refurbish them, and provide them at a considerable discount to those individuals that need them.

What initially began as a recovery operation of wheelchairs has turned into a sustainability venture that rescues all types of viable medical equipment. We aim to provide this equipment for 50-90% off MSRP. We also donate to those in need around the holidays.

How would you use the FedEx Small Business Grant money to make a significant impact on your business? - Our refurbished mobility equipment is 50-90% off MSRP, but there are people who can't even afford that, whether they are on fixed incomes, disability, welfare, etc.

We want to use this money as an emergency fund to be able to provide New England's disabled community with support at a moment's notice. The impact that this grant would have would be extraordinary, ensuring that everyone can live with dignity, mobility and with equipment they desperately need.
