A sit-to-stand lift (also commonly referred to as a stand assist lift or a standing lift) are pieces of medical equipment designed to assist those with limited mobility in switching between seated and standing positions. They are designed to support only the upper body of the user and therefore requires the user to be able put some weight on their legs.

Hoyer Lift Rental
A Hoyer lift (also commonly referred to as a Hoyer patient lift, a Hoyer sling lift and a patient hoist) is designed to help those who are not able to put any weight on their legs, and are for people who require 90-100% assistance. The elderly, children with special needs, those with leg injuries or paralysis may all benefit from a Hoyer lift rental.

The person operating the patient lift is also helped out immensely by these durable medical devices. Caregivers often need to help users switch between positions multiple times a day, making devices like patient lifts immensely valuable. Patient lifts alleviate stresses and help prevent injuries for both the user and the caregiver.
For the user, the chance of falling is drastically reduced with the use of sit-to-stands, which helps prevent a whole host of issues all on its own.

Hoyer Lift
Hoyer lifts are especially useful for transferring patients with temporary injuries such as fractures, or for those who have recently undergone major surgery.

RentHydraulic or Battery Powered?
There are a few things to consider when choosing between hydraulic and electric patient lifts. Electric patient lifts are certainly more convenient than their hydraulic counterparts, but they do offer a couple disadvantages. Electric patient lifts do require a battery, so charging will be required to use it. Additionally, there may be additional costs later when the battery dies.
Hydraulic lifts don't require charging or the need for battery replacement. However, over years the hydraulic seals will begin to leak and need to be replaced. It's not expensive, but it will be an inconvenience if the lift is needed often.
