Press Release: The 2016 'Gift Of Mobility' Recipients - Mobility Equipment for Less

The 2016 'Gift Of Mobility' Recipients!

For Immediate Release: Mobility Equipment Recyclers of New England, located in North Kingstown, RI, is once again giving the Gift of Mobility to three needy individuals this holiday season.

Earlier this year we were thrilled to announce that once again we would be giving away medical equipment to individuals in need for the 2016 Holiday Season in our 4th Annual Gift of Mobility Giveaway.

Throughout the month of December, we were accepting nominations from those in need of high-quality, refurbished medical equipment. Three winners were chosen at random, and on December 20th owner John Perrotti and general manager Andrew Celani delivered the presents with their diesel-powered sleigh.

This year’s winners are:

- Brenda Robidoux of West Warwick, RI. Brenda suffers from COPD and is on oxygen. She has bad legs and encounters trouble when walking both short and long distances. Brenda will receive a refurbished power scooter to help get some independence back and experience a better quality of life.

- Paula Taylor of Seekonk, MA. Paula has Ehlers Danlos syndrome and has undergone two neurosurgeries in the last 10 months. Her blood pressure is very unstable, and lately she’s found it to be very uncomfortable doing the things she loves most. A refurbished power wheelchair will help Paula be comfortable at church and be active again in the community.

"I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for my new chair," said Paula Taylor, the recipient of a recently-refurbished Pride Jazzy Select power wheelchair. "You have put some sunshine into a cloudy life!"

- Linda Quimby of Woonsocket, RI. Linda has felt trapped in her home for some time now. The power wheelchair she currently uses is unreliable, so much so that she can barely make it down the street to pick up her prescriptions. As a result of her faulty equipment, Linda’s canine friend has also suffered. She hasn’t been able to take her dog for walks like she used to. With a donated, refurbished power wheelchair, Linda will be able to safely make it to all of her appointments and even take the dog for long walks like she used to.

Formerly known as Power Chair Recyclers of New England, Mobility Equipment Recyclers was founded in 2014 by North Kingstown native John Perrotti with the mission of providing high-quality power chairs and other medical equipment at just a fraction of the cost. This mission was born from the belief that living comfortably is something that no single person should do without. As an organization, nothing gives the team greater satisfaction than fixing the un-fixable and offering both the equipment and its recipients a second life.

Every piece of medical equipment that arrives in the showroom gets a new lease on life: Mobility Equipment Recyclers of New England are experts at salvaging medical equipment and providing it to those in need.

All components are reused and diverted from landfills. The company’s goals are to simultaneously reduce and divert landfill waste while placing medical equipment in the hands of those who need it most.

Refurbished chairs and medical equipment is available for sale and for rent at the showroom located at 6802 Post Road, North Kingstown, RI. Individual parts are also available for purchase and can be shipped anywhere in the country.
