1. Administrative Assistant
Power Chair Recyclers Of New England is looking for a qualified administrative assistant to join our growing team. Our company is a start-up, so the person hired must be proficient across a multitude of other areas as well. We’re seeking an individual who can facilitate the flawless execution of day-to-day operations. This person should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment. This position requires daily interaction with customers and prospective clients who are disabled and/or elderly, so the individual must be compassionate, patient, friendly, creative and able to deal with various circumstances.
- Answer phone calls and redirect them when necessary
-Enter contact information into contact management systems
-Manage the daily/weekly/monthly agenda and arrange new meetings and appointments
-Prepare and disseminate correspondence, memos and forms
-File and update contact information for employees, customers, suppliers
-Check frequently the levels of office supplies and place appropriate orders
-Assist in the creation of signage, circulars, e-mail campaigns, sales initiatives, online promotion, etc
-Assist in the distribution or delivery of marketing materials
-List items for sale on our e-commerce platform
-Design creative ways to generate new business and growth opportunities
-Assist with fulfillment of marketing offers
-Provide support to social media efforts
-Assist with execution of trade shows, job fairs, etc
Our company needs an administrative assistant and/or secretary. This person must be familiar with office organization and optimization techniques. Experience in graphic design is preferred, as well as a background in sales, marketing or advertising. Person must have a high degree of multi-tasking and time management capability. This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of web and social media. Quickbooks, PowerPoint, Word and Excel experience is preferred.

2. Technician Intern
We’re seeking a creative individual who is mechanically inclined, knows how to use tools and possesses the ability to multi task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment. As an organization, nothing gives us greater satisfaction than fixing the un-fixable. That’s why giving used wheelchairs and other medical equipment a second life is such an integral part of our business. So if you enjoy working with your hands, taking things apart and putting them back together, you will fit right in. The tech intern will be trained in how to repair power wheelchairs, electric scooters and other medical equipment.
- Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing wheelchairs, including preventative maintenance
-Verifies wheelchair serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
-Maintains wheelchair appearance by cleaning, washing and painting
-Maintains records by recording service and repairs
-Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs
- Assist with equipment pickups
- Assist with shipments and deliveries
- Organizing the work area
- Creating product listings on our ecommerce platforms
This individual must be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, so organizational skills is a must. Must be able to lift heavy objects. Must have a drivers license and personal vehicle. Candidate must be compassionate, patient and friendly. The person hired will participate in all facets of the day-to-day operation of the business, so they must be willing to contribute and lend a hand to whatever is needed.
